Whether you visit us for a mountaineering course, a teambuilding event, a wedding or just for a couple of days relaxation, Gate House and its staff create the atmosphere which make them all special occasion. Gate House is famous for its dining room with wonderful ornate ceilings. Next door are the billiard room with Minstrel's gallery and bar, also the library with log fires and views across the fells. A haven of peace and tranquillity can be enjoyed in any of the numerous comfortable lounges. Outside the private grounds provide walkways to the Japanese Garden with its cascading pools and stunning azaleas and rhododendrons. The circular walk of the tarn gives wonderful views of Gate House itself. There is easy access onto the fells, with low level walks into neighbouring valleys as well as beautiful lakes all in close proximity to Gate House.
